The Committee to Re-Elect Rep. Carl Sciortino announced that three major environmental groups have endorsed him for re-election, in the wake of his success in helping to pass the Global Warming Solutions Act and the Green Jobs Initiative. The Massachusetts League of Environmental Voters, the Sierra Club of Massachusetts, and Clean Water Action have declared their support for Sciortino.

"As an environmentalist, I'm honored to receive these endorsements," said Sciortino. "Some of my proudest legislative accomplishments include fighting for the Green Line extension and helping pass legislation to address the serious problem of global warming and create more Green Jobs. I have been and always will be a strong advocate for the environment."

"We are proud to endorse Rep. Sciortino, a proven leader who understands the need to leave our children a healthy world. He is the kind of environmental leader the House needs to tackle urgent issues like global warming and public transportation," said Lora Wondolowski, Executive Director of the Massachusetts League of Environmental Voters.

"Rep. Sciortino has been a leader on important environmental issues since taking office," said Phil Sego, the Massachusetts Sierra Club's Political Chair. "From transportation issues to air quality to the health and safety of our communities, Rep. Sciortino has never shied away from the tough topics or taking a stand. We are proud to endorse him because he has shown a commitment to doing the right thing."
