The following is a press release from Mass. NOW PAC.

The Massachusetts chapter of the National Organization for Women Political Action Committee is pleased to announce its endorsement of Carl Sciortino. Sciortino is running for re-election to the House of Representatives in the Thirty-Fourth Middlesex District.

Vicky Steinberg, Chair of the Mass. NOW PAC, says: "We are proud to stand with Carl, as he has stood with us for the past four years. He is a true leader on the issues that matter most to women in the Commonwealth, from economic security to equality for all. We enthusiastically support his reelection bid, and look forward to many more years of working together with Carl for the people of the Thirty-Fourth Middlesex District."

The Mass. NOW PAC endorses candidates who are committed to NOW's mission and priority issue areas, including reproductive freedom, racial justice, constitutional rights, economic justice, LGBT Rights, and ending violence against women.

The Mass. NOW PAC works to ensure that women's rights and other social justice issues are given a voice on Beacon Hill. During his tenure in the Legislature, Sciortino has been a champion of equality and justice for the women and girls of the Commonwealth.

On receiving the Mass. NOW PAC endorsement, Sciortino said: "As a legislator, I've worked hard to support equality for all people. I'm honored to win this endorsement from Mass. NOW because I share their commitment to marriage equality, reproductive freedom, affordable housing, and other key issues that impact the lives of women and all people in Massachusetts."

The primary election is September 16, 2008 and Sciortino will be running a sticker campaign for re-election.
